Senior Systems Engineer (M/F/D)

Your mission

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer (m/f/d) for taking a key role in the development of our innovative products. In this position, you work closely with the internal product and R&
D teams and our externalproduct development partner and foster effective and efficient communication between them. You take responsibility for all technical aspects of the product development from initial product definition until the product release and beyond.
Product definition and requirements management

• Interface with our product team to define user needs and derive product features and customer requirements
• Drive and support system requirements management in collaboration with our development partner
• Support project management and R&
  D team in planning and budgeting by defining and maintaining a clear product development roadmap
• Support colleagues from other departments such as supply chain, customer success or regulatory as the expert for all technical aspects of the product

Device concept and system-level design

• Collect inputs from our R&
  D team, our product teamand other stakeholders, and facilitate an efficient decision making process to drive the system concept
• Create and lead internal R&
  D projects to explore technical feasibility of submodules and predict the impact on the overall system performance
• Own the system-level product design in collaboration with our development partner and take decisions on concept choices, component strategy and product features

Verification and Validation Strategy

• Own the testing and verification strategy ensuring sufficient testing coverage and that proposed tests will verify specifications
• Coordinate and support validation activities with internal and external stakeholders
• Μanage its implementation at the development partner and evaluate the results to ensure that the product meets the specifications

Safety/Regulatory

• Support the definition of the regulatory strategy for our products to make sure they meet all relevant requirements for our different target markets
• Drive the product risk analysis and FMEA process of our development partner
• Coordinate the involvement of external regulatory and safety consultants and serve as the technical expert for their product-related questions

Your profile

• Ph.D. / M.Sc / B.Sc in Engineering or Physics or similiar
• 5+ years professional experience as a system engineer, ideally in the field of laboratory equipment or medical devices
• Demonstrated ability to own the product concept and system-level product design process
• Expertise in requirements management and strategy definition for verification and validation
• Experience in the support of regulatory and safety experts as a technical expert and good understanding of the fundamental requirements and standards
• Passion for innovative products and the work in an interdisciplinary team.

NVision is developing fast, robust and easy-to-use hyperpolarization technology for preclinical and clinical research in our Polaris product line. Those devices are placed close to an MRI scanner in a clinical environment or a research lab to produce hyperpolarized contrast agents on demand. The hyperpolarized solution is prepared in a fast, fully-automated, multi-step process including chemical reactions, polarization transfer and several purification steps. We develop our commercial products in close collaboration with a product development partner, while the process development as well as the design of test setups and prototypes is done in-house.
